Drug Identification to Insure the Correct Drug is Administered

As we are sure you know JCAHO requires a double check of medications removed from floor stock supply. The nurses are required to be sure medications taken from the floor stock bins have not accidentally been misplaced. Our system allows for the nurses to scan the bar code of the drug or simply enter the NDC and insure they have the correct medication. Our system takes this one step further and also insures the patient is indeed supposed to get that medication. Our system also handles the problem of what we called "Malformed" NDC numbers. Many distributors have dropped leading zeros from some or all of the three sections of the NDC leaving it malformed. Our system will overcome this by ascertaining the complete NDC for you.
